The scenic Mtkvari River runs across some of the oldest and most historical sections of the Georgian capital of Tbilisi. The moment I rode by its banks, I knew that I needed to capture the scenery in photos.  My first visit to Georgia in late 2010, however, was too hectic and my Georgian colleague's driving gave me very few opportunities to do so.

Hello from the Serenade of the Seas, we are underway towards Santorini, Greece at a speed of 14.7 knots.
I am going to give you all a double blog tonight, Athens from yesterday and Kusadasi, Turkey today.
Lets Start with Yesterday morning. We left the ship nice and early to head into the European Capitol of Knowledge, Athens, Greece. It was once of those days that was brutally hot, but just what I wanted it to be!

I challenge anyone to show me a 25-square-block area that's more beautiful than Dresden's old city. After a brutal experience with firebombing in World War II and a subsequent period of forty-plus years living in drab Communist architecture, it's understandable that Dresden's residents would want to recapture some of their former Baroque glory. The love and care they put into rebuilding the glorious Baroque buildings that formerly adorned the Elbe and dominated the downtown is obvious, and you just can't help but be blown away by how incredibly impressive the architecture is.

It's been a busy summer and I've had such a wonderful time capturing portraits, weddings and special events.   Usually when I get back from a trip I have to jump right into everything I missed and my images are stored on external hard drives, awaiting their debut.
